  I agree schnare. The bible says that God's ways are higher than ours. Your argument just shows that isn't true. Thus, one of the many reasons I no longer believe in God as he's explained in the scriptures.

  schnare- You said you didn't believe any of it. There is no explanation for it in the bible. Other than what Iamallcool mentioned. I forget the exact scripture.

  still t - When I was a kid, I asked my dad, "If I grow up and the new system still isn't here, doesn't that mean that it's not coming?". He said, "No, it means that it is closer than ever!" So yeah, a meeting with him is definitely in order.

  Religious beliefs and expectations don't usually follow a logical pattern. And from what I've read in the Bible, Jehovah likes killing people.

  Reading up on cults and member behavior might help you reach your mom. Combatting Cult Mind Control by Stephen Hassan is a good place to start.

  when you left the wts, how long did it take you to realize that most of the people around you are decent folks, not "worldlies" or "bad association"?.

  how hard was it for you to accept this reality?.

  it seems to me that even after realizing ttatt, it often takes a long time to realize the extent to which the organization's indoctrination still governs attitudes and thoughts....

  I always knew that some worldly people were "good" and some were "bad". Always played with neighborhood kids and got along well with co workers and school mates. The thing that kept me hemmed in was that I wasn't supposed to form close bonds with them. So it was a relief to leave and start making nonJW friends.

  I really dislike most funeral customs.

  So I want my family and closest of friends to have a luncheon and serve my favorite meal and dessert. I want my favorite songs to be played. I want them to share their favorite memories of my life with them.

  Hopefully, this will take place many decades from now.

  Five year anniversary!

  no, not wedding anniversary, but five years ago today was the first time in twenty three years that we did not turn in field service time to our "book study overseer".

  poor guy, we really did and do care for him, but it was time to be done for good!.

  we had thought for a short while that we might try to slowly fade away, maybe even going to another congregation and then fade, but we just walked away from the one we had been in for a number of years.. we are very happy to have done so!!
